Former Shatta Movement militant, Addi Self, has opened up about an incident that contributed to the breakdown of his relationship with Shatta Wale.

Speaking in a resurfaced interview, Addi Self recounted how Shatta Wale allegedly instructed him to go live on social media and insult rapper Kweku Smoke following comments the rapper made about the dancehall star.

According to Addi Self, the incident occurred during the period he was actively associated with the Militants camp. He explained that Kweku Smoke had visited the camp as an emerging artiste looking to connect with the group.

However, he said matters took an unexpected turn shortly afterward.

“Two months later, Kweku Smoke was on live video saying Shatta had stolen his song,” Addi Self recalled.

The former Militants member said he was surprised by the accusation and expressed his concerns about the development. He claimed that Shatta Wale subsequently instructed him to also go live and attack the rapper.

Addi Self noted that he was uncomfortable with the request because he barely knew Kweku Smoke and had never personally interacted with him.

“I told one Don, I don’t even know this person because when he came he was not introduced to me, and I don’t know him so I don’t want to get involved in this,” he recounted.

According to Addi Self, his refusal to follow the instruction did not go down well with Shatta Wale, who became upset by his decision.

He further disclosed that the disagreement was one of several incidents that eventually strained his relationship with the dancehall musician and contributed to their fallout.

The revelation adds another chapter to the long-running tensions and controversies that have surrounded some former members of the Militants camp and their relationship with Shatta Wale over the years.
