Etv Ghana fashion awards slated for November 19

All is set for the 2016 edition of the e.TV Ghana Fashion Awards on Saturday, November 19 at the Mercedes Benz Showroom at the Silver Star Towers within the Airport City in Accra.

This was disclosed by the Head of Brands Communication and Marketing at Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company, Kwame Gyan, during the official media launch of this year’s awards at the Studio 7 Beauty Lounge on the Spintex Road in Accra.

According to Mr. Gyan, “e.TV Ghana is committed to the project to essentially help build the fashion brand in Ghana which celebrates photographers, fashion designers, accessory makers, stylists, models, etc.” He added that the awards has 8 categories (Best Designer of the Year, Emerging Designer of the Year, Male Model of the Year, Female Model of the Year, Accessories Designer of the Year (Jewellery and Beads Category), Accessories Designer of the Year (Hair Bands, Shoes, Bags Category), Fashion Photographer of the Year and Celebrity Fashion Icon of the Year) with some 71 nominations received as of the last week of October.

On his part, Daniel De-Long, Project Lead for the awards, noted that the night will have 3 lead designers with one exhibiting wares from his abstract collection. Mr. De-Long mentioned that just as Kofi Ansah was given the Hall of Fame award last year, another icon in the field will be celebrated with an award this year.
