Ghanaian media personality Elsie Sedem Bubuama, popularly known as Elsie Lamar, has called for heightened awareness following her documentary on the controversial subject of Kayamata.
Speaking in a recent interview on Happy FM, Elsie Lamar explained that the 'Dark Side of Kayamata' documentary was intended to spark consciousness and encourage people to pay closer attention to issues affecting their relationships and families.
According to her, many people have become too relaxed despite what she describes as growing spiritual and relational challenges in society.
“The Dark Side of Kayamata documentary should teach you awareness. I want to revive that level of awareness in people because I feel like they’re overrelaxed. Things are really happening. People are taking people’s providers, fathers, and husbands elsewhere,” she said.
She noted that some families may experience sudden and unexplained changes in their relationships.
“You’re in a happy family and all of a sudden, things are going wrong and you wouldn’t understand why. There’s a third force somewhere,” she stated.

Elsie Lamar emphasised that her intention is not to create fear, but to encourage spiritual vigilance and prayer among couples.
“I just want to awaken the spirits of people so that they get to realise things are happening, so you pray for partners,” she advised.
She further cautioned against immediately resorting to accusations when a partner begins to behave differently.
“Sometimes, when they start behaving strangely, don’t use accusatory tones because it could be that he’s not doing it with his clear eyes. Take it to prayer and pray about it. If you can fast too, you should add that to it,” she shared.
While acknowledging that some men may intentionally engage in wrongdoing, she maintained that certain situations may have spiritual dimensions.
“In spite of the fact that some men can deliberately do you dirty, some of those things are spiritual,” she added.
