The tension that usually characterises election seasons makes it key that there are constant reminders on the need to exercise restraint during such times.

With just about a day left for Ghanaians to go to the polls, the call for peace cannot be complete if our entertainment personalities do not add their voice to send home a clear message to Ghanaians on the need to maintain peace before, during and after the elections.

Some celebrities Viasat 1 Entertainment spoke to, are appealing to Ghanaians not to mar the peace we have been blessed with, especially as we prepare to go out on Wednesday to cast our ballots. For them, when the peace in the country is destroyed, there will be no plaftform left to exhibit their individual talents and also no fans to perform to.

Akwaboah Jnr. is a young, talented musician whose song writing prowess has endured him into the heart of both the young and old. Believe it or not, he wrote ‘Daa Ke Daa’ for Becca as well as ‘Ayeyi Ndwom’ for DSP Kofi Sarpong. So you see! Akwaboah has also released a number of amazing tracks including ‘I Do Love You’ which gained international appeal. He is currently signed on to the Sarkcess Record Label, which belongs to rapper Sarkodie. #Heisforpeace

“We need to maintain the peace we already have, so everyone out there, when you go out there to vote, please go home, don’t loiter about and land into any form of violence. Let’s all maintain the peace because Ghana is a peaceful country.”

Kalsoum Sinare Baffoe is one of Ghana’s finest when it comes to acting. “I urge every body to stay put after you vote because Ghana is all we have. After the elections, just kindly go home and wait for the result”

Jane ‘Efya’ Windor needs little or no introduction. The silky-voiced songstress has continually touched the very core of hearts with her soulful ballads and has woven her way to the apogee of the music stage, not just in Ghana but internationally. Beautiful numbers including ‘Little Things’, ‘Best in Me’ and ‘Forgetting Me’ are just a few of those songs one wishes never ended once play button is clicked. #Sheisforpeace

Veteran actor Fred Amugi is like old wine- the older he gets, the better. Give him any role and it fits him perfectly like a glove. His passion and zeal for acting has earned him a lot of accolades and even at a time when our television screens are filled with a younger crop of actors, Fred Amugi still plays a dominant role in there. #Heisforpeace

“We cannot live our country to other people's countries, so during and after the elections, let us live like we have always lived. Yes, there will be disparities, but that should not tear us apart.”
