Ghanaian reggae/dancehall musician Epixode has revealed that rapper Edem was the first person to pay him for his professional artwork.

In an interview with Kafui Dey on April 15, 2026, Epixode explained that although he did not charge for the job, Edem decided to reward him after seeing the quality of his work.

“The first person who actually paid for my service, even though I didn’t request money, was Edem. I did graffiti for him in one of his music videos. I was already Epixode, but I was doing music just for fun.

“They contacted me when they were about to shoot a music video. They were looking for someone in Jamestown who could draw, and that’s how they reached out to me,” he said.

Epixode further shared that he has worked with several musicians over the years, noting that his motivation was often the excitement of working with celebrities he admired.

“I did graffiti for Stonebwoy and Patoranking’s ‘Pull Up’ remix, as well as for Adina Thembi, Sarkodie, and many others. I also worked with Prince Dovlo, so I handled most of the graffiti pieces that came through.

“Because I was excited to see these celebrities, people I looked up to, I often did the work for them out of passion,” he added.
