Eddie Kadi to rock Ghana this December

Ghana is set laugh, giggle, cry, chuckle and scream as top UK comedian, presenter, actor and MC, Eddie Kadi is ready to storm Accra live on December 29. As part of Akwaaba UK’s 11th year anniversary celebrations, the noted comedian will share the stage with Ghanaian comedians like Bukom Banku, Funny Face, Percy, DKD and others at the Bowl Arenna of Citizen Kofi.

Also performing are, Egypt (UK), Gracious Napa Man (UK), Kwabena kwabena, Ruff N Smooth, Nana Boroo, Wutah, Efya, Trigmatic, Iwan, Mike, Tiffany, 5five.

Eddie Kadi was born in the DR Congo in 1983, and, moving to the UK at the age of 8, he grew up in Fulham, West London. A student at the Henry Compton secondary school (famously attended by British Athlete Linford Christie), he moved on to the William Morris Academy for Sixth Form. Head prefect and a popular student, Eddie threw himself into the performing arts, taking part in numerous school and church music groups.

He then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Technology from Kingston University, where he was elected spokesman, and ultimately president, of the Kingston University African-Caribbean Society (ACS).

It was while at University that Eddie hosted his first show which further cemented that entertaining people seemed to come naturally – and he’s never looked back since!

Renowned for his quick wit, clean comedy and unpredictable shows, Eddie Kadi has received much public acclaim in recent years, including the BECA Award for Best Comedy Newcomer in 2006. As just one of his many well deserved accolades in a journey which includes sold out concerts at the Hammersmith Apollo, Hackney Empire and the IndigO2 (twice in 2009), a 4 disc DVD collection, numerous television and film projects, this shows that Eddie is fast becoming a powerful force in British comedy.

Current, relevant, thought provoking yet refreshingly, controversy free, Eddie Kadi has proven himself to be the consummate entertainer. He is generously gifted with the ability to reach across cultures as a unifying force, breaking down social stereotypes as he delights his diverse audiences. Eddie delivers ever fresh, funny yet conscious and poignant insights throughout his work, crafting.

The next decade is looking bright with 2010 shaping up to be his biggest year yet; rising to a crescendo with Eddie Kadi’s inaugural headline arena show at the O2 Arena on September 4th (pre-sale tickets sold out in less than 12 hours with extra allocation needing to be released). Encouraging people to buy tickets by the 10s, Eddie believes that not only is it the best medicine, but laughter is an experience to be shared with family and friends, fronting the “Have you got your 10?” campaign for the show in September.

Not one to rest on his laurels in the meanwhile though, Eddie Kadi will be kept busy with a trip back to the DR Congo in April (his first return since moving to the UK in 1992), a University tour and causing a stir at the Edinburgh Festival, amongst other exciting TV and Radio projects.
