EIB journalists participate in 2016 AMVCA in Nigeria

Multichoice Ghana has invited two journalists of the EIB Network to participate in this year's Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in Lagos, Nigeria.

The two include Senior Broadcast Journalist and news anchor at Starr 103.5 FM Kweku Obeng-Adjei and Obed Boafo, online editor for Kasapa FM and Live FM, all subsidiaries of the EIB network. The journalists will leave Accra for the awards this weekend.

They are accompanied by Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, a regular contributor and panel member of the Saturday Morning Zoo programme on Starr FM.

Multichoice in a letter to the journalists described the invitation as an experience worth sharing and urged them to use the opportunity to tell good stories about the awards which is often described as the Africa Oscars. Ghana has five nominations.

They include:

Best actor in drama
Majid Michael [Being Mrs Elliot]
Van Vicker [A long Night]

Best Director and Best Editor
Shirley Frimpong Manso [Rebecca]

Best actress in comedy
(Movie/TV series) An African City
Nana Mensah

Best overall movie
(Africa),“Silverrain”Juliet Asante

The Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) is an annual awards show presented by Multichoice recognizing outstanding achievement in television and film, voted on by the general public. Entry into the award ceremony are films and TV series that have been aired on Dstv Channels in the previous year.
