Drum Lyne's K. Boakye makes statement with debut single

Music is art, an art the civil servants have nothing in common with. But as is widely accepted, music always breaks boundaries.

The industry has seen a lot of people jump from diverse backgrounds into the music scene - from bankers to scientists to police etc.

Kofi Boakye is the newest switch into the music industry. He is a police officer, hails from Juaso in the Ashanti Region. He had his basic and secondary school education in Juaso, later joined the church choir and was one of the key vocalists.

K. Boakye, as he is known in showbiz circles grew up listening to some of Ghana’s great musicians like Nana Ampadu, J. A. Adoffo, Akwaboa Snr, Kwadwo Antwi, Snoopy Mike Gyamfi, Daddy Lumba, Ofori Amponsah, Dada KD, Daasebre Gyamena, Nana Acheampong etc.

“My friends call me Dova. The name Dova simply means dove which is a sacred bird. My friends back then likened me to a bird because I was always seen singing. Over time the name Dove was twisted to Dova to make it sound more lively.” the *Drum Lyne Entertainment signed artist said.

“Obiaa se ?y?” is his new single and he promises a pile of good songs for Ghanaians and the world at large.
