Did Shatta Wale deceive Ghanaians with ‘Amount’ music video?

There is no hiding place for dancehall artiste and Zylofon signee Shatta Wale after his latest music video Amount proved to be a big ‘scam’ following claims that the video was shot in South Africa.

Prior to the release of the video, Shatta Wale shared a couple of behind-the-scenes photographs and added captions that suggested that the he was in South Africa shooting the music video for then unreleased single, Amount.

However, checks by Asembi.com revealed that Shatta Wale was not in South Africa but the video contains scenes from South Africa.

Ace Nigerian director Sesan tried his best to cover this fact up by letting Shatta Wale splash some South Africa Rands to indicate that the location was indeed South Africa.

What gave Shatta Wale up were some unused shots from Nasty C and Davido’s Coolest Kid in Africa video that appeared in the Amount video.

A careful watch of the video which has same concept as Davido and Nasty C’s video, shows that some effects were added to make it look as though Shatta Wale was also at the same location for the video, when in fact he was not.

What makes this more interesting is that Sesan shot the ‘Coolest Kid In Africa’ video. We can’t tell if this is a new strategy adopted by Shatta Wale but this is his second video of the year that has clearly brewed controversy after some accused him of stealing the Gringo concept which was directed by same Sesan.
