Ghanaian rapper M.anifest in the year 2013 released his song “Someway Bi” on his “APae” album which caught the attention of Ghanaians because they could relate easily to it because the title was a common term.

“Someway Bi” became an instant hit, gaining radio airplay and lots of downloads on the internet. The song “Someway Bi”, which was produced by Yung Fly, had its official video out for fans of the rapper to enjoy in August 2014.

Whilst M.anifest was enjoying all the praise and hype which came along with the song “Someway Bi”, nobody thought the beat of the song was actually ‘stolen’.

The beat of the song was picked from Umalali’s “Mérua”. Umalali is a collaborative project put together by Belizean musician and producer, Ivan Duran.

The song “Mérua” was originally recorded in the year 2009 with M.anifest’s “Someway Bi” coming out in 2013.

Did M.anifest seek permission before using the beat for his “Someway Bi” or Yung Fly, the producer of the song, just stole it and put his name on it? This is actually “Someway Bi”
