Desist from panic donations - Edem

Edem Edem

As countries around the world are stepping up their efforts to tackle the new coronavirus that has killed tens of thousands of people so has celebrities stepped up their act of giving.

This warm-hearted gesture demonstrated by these well-resourced celebrities has led to many of their fans to call on them for enormous assistance in this Coronavirus lockdown season.

However, multiple award-winning rapper, Edem has advised his colleagues in the music industry and other sectors to be mindful about the monies they spend on their fans or the public.

Speaking in an interview with Amansan Krakye of Radio Central in Cape Coast, Edem stressed that it’s easy for celebrities to resort to public donations due to the standards they have set for themselves but that doesn’t mean they should go out of their budget just to satisfy their fans or please the society and suffer in silence.

“If you are a celebrity and you don’t have money right now don’t donate to anybody. You can’t give what you don’t have and suffer in silence whilst you’re hailed publicly.

“If you have 10cedis and you’ll give someone 1cedi and still be alive it’s better because when you die there will be no one to depend on so it’s better you stay alive and carry more people on your shoulder”. He advised.

Meanwhile, the artiste encouraged Ghanaians to treat the coronavirus disease with all seriousness because it is currently conquering all the well-developed countries across the globe.
