Deborah Cox performs at Ghana World Music Festival

Canadian Grammy award-winning R&B songstress, Deborah Cox, treated patrons at the much anticipated Ghana World Music Festival held at the Fantasy Dome, Trade-fair, with some incredible global music.

Deborah Cox who is among music icons billed to share their great flairs at the first annual Ghana World Music Festival performed some of her magnificent tunes to the satisfaction of the patrons.

Cox is known for some of her biggest hits like, "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here," "Who Do U Love," "We Can't Be Friends," "It's Over Now," "Absolutely Not" and "I Never Knew." Many of her songs have been chart toppers on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart.

The musical icon has starred in Broadway musical for "The Bodyguard." She played the role of Rachel made famous by Whitney Houston in the film.

The event is aimed at applauding African resilience 400 years after the first enslaved Africans arrived in Jamestown, Virginia.

The first annual Ghana World Music Festival is a celebration of the power of the Ghanaian music and the sounds of the diaspora.

The night saw great opening from Grammy-award winner and South African musician, Ernie Smith with some natural African rhythms.

His collected jazz essentials lightened up the show with his ‘Love Don’t Hurt Me Again’ hit song. He climaxed his part of the show with his ‘Lonely’ track where he urged single fans in the auditorium to call on their lovers and not be selfish.



On the bill to perform at the two day event is Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artiste, Samini; Jamaican reggae band, Third World; Jamaican Jazz and reggae artiste, Irvin Mayfield, Lamisi, Kojo Antwi and many more.
