Davido dedicates MOBO award to victims of Libya African Slave Trade

Nigerian music superstar, Davido, born David Adeleke, has receive an international award in ‘Best African Act’ in the just ended 2017, “Music of Black Origin”(MOBO), Awards.

The award brought smiles on the faces of his fans and Nigerians in general.

In a video trending on social media, the musician who looked depressed despite being honoured for his good works shared tears on the podium.

The “Banana fall on you” hit maker, dedicated the MOBO award to all victims of Libya African Slave Trade.

He stated in the video: “Thank you for this, first of all, I want to thank God and my family and before I congratulate myself, I want to talk about what is going on in Libya, and for me, I think is not just going on in Africa but the whole world. I thought that, we should all come together and to find a way to fix this problem.”

The musician who had earlier posted several pictures on social media handles urging authorities to take action against the maltreatment of black Africans in Libya stated on his Instagram page: “What a wicked world we live in!!!! We need to come together to fix this!! ME I GALANT FOR THE MATTER!! CLEAR!!”

The MOBO award saw several deserving Nigerian talented including Wizkid and Grime Act Stromzy take home award.

Wizkid took home the award of ‘Best International Act’ ahead of Jay-Z, Solange Knowles, Kendrick Lamar and DJ Khaled.
