Daddy Lumba to change name

Obi Ate Meso BoCharles Kwadjo Fosu, a.k.a Daddy Lumba says he will soon change his name to fit his new image in the music industry. The name ‘Daddy Lumba’ shall soon fade into the initials, DL.

The music icon told Showghana.com that people should watch out for the DL brand both in terms of music and other products.

He didn’t want to disclose what sort of product he’ll bring to the market but our sources tell us the move may include establishing educational institutions and bringing in sex health products including condoms.

The move is to mark a new phase in Daddy Lumba’s musical career and add value to his image and artistry.

Daddy Lumba is a household name in Ghana and has twenty three successful albums to his credit. He’s also helped bring up some of the big names in Ghanaian music including Felix Owusu and Ofori Amponsah.

He discarded rumors that his relationship with Ofori Amponsah isn’t good and said Ofori came to the studio when he (Daddy Lumba) was recording and even asked how he could help with the album.

Asked if he’s contemplating leaving the music scene entirely to concentrate fully on the new DL products, Daddy Lumba said as long as songs keep haunting him and as long as music keeps ringing in his head, he shall forever do music.

He added that the new Daddy Lumba (DL) will be launched next year as long as there is life, health and energy by the grace of God.
