After thirteen weeks of talent display, nine year old Erica Tandoh popularly known as DJ Switch returned home to present her deserving award to the Chiefs and the town folks of Dadieso in the Suaman District of the Western Region.

The record setter in Ghana’s entertainment industry, DJ Switch of TV3’s Talented Kidz reality show fame was heralded by a pool of crowd from her home town and other nearby towns welcoming her for the exquisite performances and also emerging as the winner of Season 8 of the talent discovering show.

At a durbar organized by Suaman Traditional Council to commemorate her homecoming, the regent, Nana Osei Kofi expressed excitement for such a talent and thus advised parents and guardians not to hinder such little beginnings but rather motivate them, nurture and enhance the talents for greater exposures.

The regent hinted the traditional council intends to set up an education fund for talented school going pupils in the area to unearth talents and also motivate them.

“We will create education fund to help school children like DJ switch to help them bring out their talents” He indicated, DJ Switch’s mother exhibited similar talent at her childhood stage but could not nurture it.

“DJ Switch mother too used to display same talent when she was young but we did not help her to bring it out but now she is a teacher raised to circuit supervisor position”. Nana Osei therefore urged parents to show interest in their wards anytime they exhibit innovation and creativity.


The Suaman District Chief executive, Christian Baah commended TV3 for such incomparable kids reality show.

“As a matter of fact, TV3 has done well but they need to go a little further to have it on regional basis”

He suggested that government partners TV3 to broaden the scope of selection to bring more children with such and other talents on board. He noted “once potentials are discovered early it goes a long way to help the kids.”

DJ Switch expressed her profound gratitude to the Traditional Council, the District Assembly, Ghana Education Service and fans for their massive support.

She could not leave the stage without displaying her disc Jockeying skills , turning and twisting the knobs of the DJ controller.

The crowd also could not but danced and sang along to her tunes and mixes while cheering her up.
