Ghanaian musician D Black has signed onto music streaming site TIDAL owned by Jay z.
The latest move means the Ghanaian musician has another opportunity to sell his trade digitally.
Backed by heavy artiste-power/numbers, TIDAL is also owned by a number of high profile global acts including Jay Z’s wife Beyonce, Usher, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj, among a host of others.
A subtle campaign for greater commercial recognition, TIDAL was launched to offer better value for the works of signed-on acts.
The service offers CD-quality music and music video streaming with extensive curated editorial expertise. TIDAL says it has access to more than 30 million songs and 75,000 music videos.
Recently rocked by resignations at its top management level, JAY Z and the other founders say they are still hopeful of a decent breakthrough in the next few years.
A direct rival to Spotify, iTunes, and other global music streaming sites, it remains to be seen how well the 3-month-old subscription-based service fares.
