D-Black explains how Freda Rhymz joined Black Avenue

Music executive D-Black has responded to claims by rapper CJ Biggerman regarding how female rapper Freda Rhymz ended up signing with his record label, Black Avenue Muzik.

In a post shared on March 5, 2026, CJ Biggerman described what he called a painful experience after investing time and resources into grooming Freda Rhymz at the early stage of her career.

According to him, he had coached and supported the rapper with the aim of turning her into the biggest female rapper in Ghana.

He explained that as part of that effort, he helped prepare her and sign her up for the music reality show MTN Hitmaker.

However, after the competition, he claimed that the artiste cut off contact with him and later joined D-Black’s label.

“We wanted to create the biggest female rapper from Gh. After putting all the efforts into producing, directing, coaching etc to win MTN Hitmaker. She ghosted us and signed to D-black. I haven’t still recovered from that heart break,” CJ Biggerman wrote.

Responding to the claims, D-Black clarified the circumstances under which Freda Rhymz joined his label.

According to him, the move was facilitated by the organisers of the talent show, MTN and Charterhouse, and was done at the request of the artiste herself.

D-Black explained that the arrangement was a one-year deal and that Freda joined the label together with her own team.

The music executive further stated that when Freda joined Black Avenue Muzik, his team ensured that the people working with her were properly accommodated within the arrangement, including the investor and members of her creative team.

He also disclosed that Freda’s team later experienced internal disagreements, which led to a fallout among them.

D-Black further indicated that after Freda’s one-year deal with the label ended, Black Avenue Muzik did not renew her contract, after which she moved on and later signed with another record label.

“This story talk am well. lol. Mtn and Charterhouse brought her to our label at her request for a 1 year deal. We made sure she came with her team and gave them all splits, one guy called Blue who was the investor and another sound engineer/writer called ‘Hamra Boi’. They however fell out after 6 months over an internal dispute involving them 3. After a year Black Avenue Muzik didn’t renew the deal as well. She went on to do her thing and sign with another label. Wishing everyone the very best,” D-Black wrote.
