With the rising numbers in the deadly Coronavirus cases in Ghana, actress Lydia Forson believes locking down the country is necessary but says it will come at a great cost to the less privileged.

The number of Covid-19 cases has risen to 27 with two deaths recorded all in the Ashanti Region.

Experts and some social commentators have asked the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo to lock down the country to protect the citizens.

Actress Lydia Forson says it’s necessary to lock down the country but Ghana is not positioned to support the poor in society and therefore they will be at the losing end in case there’s a lock down.

She said “The thing about a lock down is so many people who’re less privileged will suffer. For many people getting something to eat even daily is a struggle. And our system doesn’t necessarily protect the poor. So even though it’s necessary it also comes at a great cost”.
