Confidence Requests For Ex-Lover's Song

Whatever party ‘animal’ and C.E.O of Aphrodisiac Night club, Confidence Sedziafa Haugan feels for Ewe rapper Ayigbe Edem of the ‘Last Two’ music fame seems not to be fading away, in spite of the mystery that surrounded their defunct relationship.

Confidence boldly requested for the song of her ex-lover on Peace FM’s “Entertainment Review” last Saturday May 1, when host of the programme Kwasi Aboagye asked her to mention the name of her favourite Ghanaian artiste.

“I love Pat Thomas, I love Kojo Antwi, at the moment I love Nana Borro, but my favorite is anything Ewe because I am an Ewe girl, so I would say that Ayigbe Edem is my favourite. The album was given to me and that is how I fell in love with his music. The host played a song titled: “Nyornuviade” from his Volta Regime album. She then thanked the presenter for making her day.

Confidence, for the first time, spoke openly about her love affair with Ayigbe Edem and the missing mobile phone which ended their relationship. Confidence, who was accused of putting on ‘facebook’ that her then boyfriend Ayigbe Edem had stolen her mobile phone worth about fourteen thousand dollars ($14,000), said “I never put anything on ‘facebook’ in that contest.

I think somebody wanted to use me to do some publicity or whatever they wanted to do. To me, it was just a bit of mischief because I don’t understand what kind of person will record their friend without their knowledge, if he or she doesn’t have any intention of using it”, she stated. She said, one will have to walk a mile in her shoes to be able to understand what went on between her and the hard-core rapper. “I have paid quite dearly for this particular incident and I am very proud of myself looking at the way I handled it.

This is because it was something that was going to pull me down, but thanks to God, I am here and still strong. This is matters of the heart. It's just that somebody decided to use me and I hope they achieved whatever they wanted. I really hope so”, she emphasized.

Confidence said she doesn’t blame the media for bringing the story out because if nobody took the story to them, they wouldn’t know. “The media did nothing wrong. I just think that some media people were biased in breaking that story.” Asked, why she refused to react to the story when it first came out, she said it was her private life.

When she was reminded of the popular saying “celebrities do not have private life”, she said “You know, I didn’t know I was a celebrity until that story broke, but I think every public figure deserves a certain amount of privacy.

The politicians, the musicians, footballers, actors and actresses and all other celebrities should be given a little bit of privacy because at the end of the day, everybody has skeletons in their closet, and sometimes you do something that you are not proud of, something that you would want to remain between you and your God. People make mistakes, everybody, so I think when journalists are reporting they should be fair.”

Confidence runs the biggest night club in Ghana. The Aphrodisiac Night Club, opened on December 23, 2004 when she returned to Ghana from her five years stay in the UK. She was once a beauty queen a ‘Miss Volta Region’ and also a finalist of the 1999 Miss Ghana pageant. Her hobby is partying and she loves dancing.

She loves to see people happy after a hard day’s work, and she is very proud to have established what she calls “A stress-free zone”. She will go the extra mile to make you enjoy yourself any time you pass by the Aphrodisiac Night Club, located at Dwowulu in Accra. She also hopes to replicate the same night club, in all the ten regions.
