Prophet Eric Amponsah aka Computer-Man, leader of Hope Generation Ministry, is reported to have abandoned his three-year-old son he had with one of his wives.
The boy’s mother, Sylvia, told News-One that getting money from Prophet Amponsah to cater for the young boy always led to fisticuffs, adding that an arrangement that the upkeep money be sent to a bank had also not worked out.
Sylvia further noted that Prophet Amponsah had threatened to kill her “like a fowl” if she continued to tell people that he had failed to fulfill his fatherly responsibilities.
Prophet Amponsah recently complained that his second wife, Juliet, had been fingered in her vagina by another Man of God-Prophet Nana Kofi Yirenkyi aka Jesus One Touch - leader of Jesus Blood Prophetic Ministry.
According to Sylvia, the Man of God impregnated her before they got married and that he started acting strangely towards her the moment she became pregnant. “If not that the pregnancy was visible, I would have aborted it because the man was acting in a very strange way … now he has informed my parents that he would divorce me but keeps shifting the divorce date from one month to another … that is not as annoying as he failing to look after the boy and rather insulting me and my family all over. “Even when I gave birth, he said there was no money for the engagement and naming ceremony. All he brought was a few drinks and then named the boy. My family sponsored the rest just so we would not be embarrassed,” Sylvia noted.
When News-One called Prophet Amponsah over the matter, he denied the reports and swore with his life that he was speaking the truth, alleging that his wife only wanted to tarnish his image. Prophet Amponsah said on a monthly basis, he gave an amount of GH¢100 to W.O. Taye to pay into the boy’s bank account, adding that it was paid latest by the second day of every month.
He promised to give News-One copies of the receipt of the money he had paid into the boy’s bank account. The paper therefore waited from last Tuesday to last night when the story was filed, but he did not turn up with the receipts.
GH¢100 Per Month Prophet Amponsah said he gave the boy an amount of GH¢100 per month and the money was sent latest by the second day through on W.O. Taye. W.O. Taye told News-One that he sent the money and the last one was sent on the 8th of this month.
Sylvia explained that the money delayed until as late as the 15th of the month and that aside that, it was insufficient to cater for the boy. “That money involves everything: his school fees, his feeding money, his health bills, his clothing … because he is not living with the boy, he does not know what it means to be a father. “His money for school on a daily basis alone takes half of the money … as for what he eats after school and what he wears, the man just does not care … “Sylvia added.
Divorce Sylvia says Prophet Amponsah had vowed never to have sex with her because he wanted to divorce her but since March this year, he had continued to postpone the divorce date from one month to another. Prophet Amponsah explained that he had been postponing the divorce date with the hope that Slyvia would change her mind so they could continue to live as man and wife. He however said that they have agreed to have the divorce by the end of this month.
Death Threat Sylvia claimed Prophet Amponsah had threatened to kill her if she ever stepped a foot into his church to demand the boy’s upkeep money, noting that she had information that the prophet had sent people to trail her to execute his threat. She produced a female witness who confirmed to have been present when the threat was issued. Prophet Amponsah has denied the allegation and said Sylvia was fond of coming to the church to fight with him right in front of the congregation but at no point did he threaten her with death. He said it was to avoid the frequent confrontations that they both agreed that the money for the boy’s upkeep would be sent to the bank.
