Veteran Ghanaian actress and fashion enthusiast Pascaline Edwards has opened up about the challenges fashion designers face in dealing with clients, describing customer behaviour as one of the most difficult aspects of the job.
Speaking on a cooking show on UTV on March 22, 2026, Pascaline shared insights into her background in fashion and how her family’s creative influence shaped her passion for design.
“Everyone sews in our home. No one was trained for it. My grandmother, my mother and my aunt are fashion designers, but I was the only one who went for training. One thing about me is, I believe in polishing our talents to make them better,” she said.
According to her, while the fashion profession itself is not necessarily the hardest part of the job, dealing with clients often creates unnecessary pressure and misunderstandings in the process.
“(The) fashion space is very difficult. It’s not the job work that is challenging; it’s the clients we deal with. They do compare what they ordered with what they got, but it’s their fault,” she explained.

She further noted that some clients often change their minds after designs have been completed, making the work even more frustrating for designers.
“Sometimes, they would show a style they liked, and when you’re done, they would say they didn’t want that style. You would have to try and manage to make something else out of it. Then the outfit gets ruined and they would blame the designer,” she stated.
Pascaline Edwards revealed that she has personally experienced such situations but has learnt how to manage them effectively without allowing clients to take advantage of her.
“Some tried to do that with me, but I didn’t give them the chance,” she added.
