Chris Brown is now a doctor, as Harvest Christian University, a Dallas-based private faith school, honored the singer with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Visual & Performing Arts on Friday, TMZ reported.

Brown, 37, took to Instagram to share photos of the ceremony. One of the photos shows the Sensational singer wearing a gown and posing with the certificate while smiling. Another photo shows the certificate, while the third shows him smiling at the ceremony.

“I DID A THING!” he captioned in the post.

Brown has had a stellar career, and he recently released an album. The 37-year-old, who was conferred an honorary PhD, also came after he and his partner, Jada Wallace, welcomed a baby boy, Face2Face Africa reported in April.

Besides his newborn baby, Brown shares his first daughter, Royalty, with Nia Guzman, a son, Aeko, with Ammika Harris, and a daughter, Lovely, with Diamond Brown.

Earlier this month, a man working as a member of Brown’s security detail was fired after he allegedly fired a gun outside the singer’s Los Angeles home, TMZ reported. The shooting incident occurred on May 1, and the security guard was arrested when police responded to the scene. The security guard allegedly got into a confrontation with a woman before he opened fire.

Law enforcement sources informed the entertainment news outlet that the man in question was part of Brown’s security detail, and he was at the home when the incident occurred. He has, however, since been fired.

The shooting reportedly happened after the woman came around Brown’s home. TMZ reported that this is something that occurs regularly, as women occasionally show up at the singer’s home. And though the woman was asked to leave, she refused, resulting in an intense argument outside the premises.

The security guard is said to have opened fire after the woman entered her car and drove over his foot. Brown was reportedly at home when the shooting occurred, but he had nothing to do with the confrontation.

In the aftermath of the incident, Brown took to social media to make it known that he had no involvement in what occurred.

“AT THIS POINT THIS PATTERN IS OLD. I’m looking at the news like the rest of yall, wondering when and where the hell this happened,” the Sensational singer posted on his Instagram Story. “I been in my crib this whole time. Ain’t heard a gunshot, police car, or anything. DONT ATTACH MY NAME TO NONE OF THE BULLSH-T. I got sh-t to do!”
