The act of drawing meanings into the lyrics of songs composed by musicians has been with humanity since Adam and the current to happen in the Ghanaian music industry is about one of Choirmaster's new songs.
Recently, Choirmaster, a former member of the defunct Praye trio, released his first solo song titled Ghana's Most Beautiful which is enjoying massive airplay and was even adopted by TV3 for their Ghana Most Beautiful pageant as their theme song. He later followed up with 'Saved by Grace' and 'Pull him down.'
Already, some people have started reading political meanings into his 'Pull Him Down' song, alluding that the song was addressed at anti–NDC people who may be pulling strings to make the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President Mahama unpopular.
“I have heard some NDC supporters say the song is for them and that people are trying to pull Mahama down but I want to state it categorically that it is a song for my choristers and not for any politician. It's a song to inspire everybody who wants to do something to stay focused. I don't do songs for political parties,” he explained.
He added, “I have choristers in NDC and NPP and I love all my choristers so if I am called upon by either NPP or NDC I am ready to entertain them not to take a side.”
Choir Master after breaking away from the Praye group is being managed Blue Rose Entertainment alongside some good musicians like Macho Rapper and others.
So far he is the only person in the group who has released multiple singles after their break up, and fans are asking whether the rest are still sleeping, or they have quit music.
