After a thirteen-week thriller, Central A/G Band have been crowned winners of Talented Kidz Season VII.
The group from Ashaiman beat competition from Action Boys, Winston Jojo Danquah and Kiddie Royal Band.
Made up of three boys, they were given GHC 10,000 cash prize, GHC 6,000 endowment fund, tablet, certificate, textbooks, plaque and souvenirs from sponsors.
The event which came off at the National Theatre on Monday saw amazing performances from all eight finalists [Louisa Robertson, Abraham Quaye, Central A/G Band, Kidie Roayal Band, Action Boys, Winston Jojo Danquah, Unique Dancers and Kurt Ansah Frimpong].
After the first round of performances, four were shortlisted for the next round.
Central A/G Band during the first round performed Kakai by Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy’s Go Higher. Their outstanding performance won them a standing ovation from SP Kofi Sarpong and Judge, Paulina Oduro.
Uncle Benedict who is also one of the judges remarked, “Tonight I’m just speechless. That was a stunning performance. You have maintained your momentum from the start of the competition and tonight you have nailed it all. You guys are stars.”
Central A/G Band performed Fela Kuti’s ‘Zombie’ during the second round of the competition. Their performance was met with cheers from the audience.
Action Boys who have been putting up educative stage plays placed second. They took home GHC 8,000 cash prize, a tablet, certificate, plaque and souvenirs from sponsors.
Pianist, Winston Jojo Danquah was third with GHC 7,000 cash prize, a tablet, certificate, plaque and souvenirs from sponsors.
The Kiddie Royal Band came fourth with GHC 6,000 cash prize, a tablet, certificate, plaque and souvenirs from sponsors.
The show, hosted by Jozzy, also saw performances from Nero X.
Last season, Star Dance Crew, a group made up of three dancers from the Apostle Safo School of Arts and Science Primary School won the competition.
