Cape Coast Crowd Scares Jackie Appiah

Reports from Cape Coast, the Central Regional capital, on Monday indicated that celebrated Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah developed an instant headache after she was ambushed by a huge crowd at the Cape Coast University.

Jackie was at the university campus as part of the premiere of her new movie, ‘Night With Her’, featuring James Gardner and John Dumelo.

She was there with James Garner, producer of the movie David Owusu and others when the incident took place.

A NEWS-ONE source said there was a huge crowd waiting for the actress and upon seeing her, everybody surged forward, wanting to touch her and shake hands with her.

Within a short while Jackie had been mobbed.

James Gardner on the other hand bolted and left Jackie to her fate because he could also not stand the pressure from the crowd.

One of Ghana’s entertainment writers, who was part of the entourage, became Jackie’s make-shift bodyguard and saved her from the crowd.

The source said Jackie quickly started complaining about a severe headache and pleaded that she wanted to go back to her car.

Even though it is not clear what really happened, the source said producer David stepped in to control the crowd and pleaded with Jackie to spend some time with her fans.
