Born Starz Season 2: Auditions kick off this Saturday

All roads lead to the NAFTI studios in Cantonments this Saturday, September 21, 2013, as the second season of Born Starz takes off. The auditions are expected to be held on subsequent Saturdays until the final one on October 26.

In all, there will be six (6) audition days this season with two acts going through to the next level each week. The 12 finalists will then perform and the best seven (7) will vie for the semi-finals slot. Two (2) more contestants would be evicted, and then the final five (5) will compete at the grand finale later in December.

After a fantastic debut season, Ben Brako, Paulina Oduro and David Oscar make a return as judges for this year’s edition. Ben Brako had earlier declared Born Starz as the “best natural quality talent show so far in Ghana.” According to him, the show encompasses different kinds of natural talents, which will eventually propel the contestants to a trained, professional level. “I am looking forward to the show!”

Known as the main critic among the judges, comedian and actor, David is in high spirit ahead of the auditions. “I’m excited about the second season of Born Starz which starts filming on Saturday, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m expecting more wannabe comedians to come through. I need more talents for my Corporate Comedy Series,” he said.

Sweet Paulina Oduro always brings her motherly touch to the show, with her special qualities always calming nerves. Asked about her expectations, Aunt Paulina said she is keeping her fingers crossed and is hoping this season’s edition would be better than the last. “Fans and viewers should not miss any edition of Born Starz this year, it’ll be fun!”

Meanwhile, free audition forms are still available at Koala Shopping Mall (Osu), Max Mart (37), Viasat 1 (Labone), Modern African Productions (Labone), and NAFTI (Cantonments). The forms can alternatively be downloaded online at www.viasat1.com.gh.

Born Starz is the first talent show by Viasat1 and is aimed at unearthing developing skills and talents from individuals or groups from all walks of life. With no age restrictions and talent barrier, the show gives the public an equal opportunity to exhibit their unique abilities. This is another step by Viasat 1 to invest in the channel, and to urge viewers to identify with the Viasat 1 brand as their own.
