Bloggers’ Forum: The Medikal/Eno Barony beef, AY Poyoo’s elevation

The controversy in the music space involving three female rappers has begun to crescendo as Medikal has joined. Some have raised concerns about diction and so we ask: how far is too far in a lyrical war? Can a ‘beef’ be tasty if it’s not dirty?

Sista Afia took a swipe at Eno Barony in her ‘You’ve Got Nerves’ song which some say was composed by Medikal. The rebuttal ‘Argument Done’ saw Eno poke Medikal in the eye while serving Sista Afia some jabs.

Amidst speculations his next single ‘Nonsense’ will be a response to Eno’s jab for which reason the female rapper has also scheduled the release of ‘Force Them To Play Nonsense’ as a counter, Medikal in a tweet said he would use his time judiciously than engage in a lyrical battle.

The statement, however, did not come without a jab as the Tuesday tweet read: “Don’t ever think I will waste time recording a diss track to a female rapper, expecially when the person looks like corpse. Issa dead tin.”

In the midst of the tension and the coronavirus scare, AY Poyoo has had his breakthrough. His unconventional craft is making him the newest sensation.
