Blackmail Rocks Silverbird Cinema

By Liberty Amewode
There is murmuring as Mr. Boateng, Chief Executive Officer of a multimillion-dollar company introduces Lavida, his third wife in five years, to the senior staff of his conglomerate and proceeds to appoint her Managing Director.
Lavida, a former fiancée of Henry Koranteng, the Marketing Executive, quickly initiates moves to take off from where she left off but gets fiercely resisted by Henry, who is married to Nikki, a young lawyer.
Even a promotion to Director will not move Henry, who considers the vow to his wife sacred. But when his signature mysteriously appears on a damning letter, which threatens to put him out of work, Henry buckles under pressure from the pretty MD for a hot round of steamy sex in order to save his skin.
The MD wants more but Henry would have none of that and finds himself being dismissed and accused by his Chief Executive of attempting to rape his wife.
All this while, pregnant Nikki has no idea about the mess her husband finds himself in and gets a shock of her life when she finds a resignation letter in his suit. A confession follows and Nikki vowed to stand firm behind her husband to fight the case in court.
At the first sitting of the tribunal, Henry is completely floored and seems to have no defense against the strong argument of the MD’s lawyer.
And just when all seems to be getting lost, an unintentional recording of a conversation surfaces and suddenly, Henry’s case looks good.
But Lavida will not go down without a fight and picks up a gun.
What happens next? The answer is provided in a fresh movie, BLACKMAIL, which premiers at the Silverbird Cinema this Friday October 22.
The movie features some of the crème de la crème of Ghallywood, including Jackie Appiah (Nikki), John Dumelo (Henry), and Kofi Adjorlolo (Mr. Boateng).
Written and directed by five-time AMAA award winner, Phil Efe Bernard and produced by Diamond World Production, BLACKMAIL is sensational, rejuvenating and full of suspense and intrigue.
Movie lovers would have a lot to cheer about, particularly the basic premise of sequence and a powerful dialogue that portrays the unrequited story of a blackmailer. Make a date with the Silverbird Cinema this Friday at 7p.m.
