Black Star magazine to be launched in November

Accra, July 1, GNA - Black Star Magazine, a new Luxe publication aimed at the successful, fashion savvy Ghanaian community will be launched in November 2011.

A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Friday said its founder is London-based Ms Paulina Opoku-Gyimah, a fashion journalist/stylist with more than 10 years experience in the fashion industry.

It said Ms Opoku-Gyimah had contributed to numerous publications including Elle UK, TIME (Warner), The Sunday Times Style Magazine, Colours, FashizBlack and Star Magazine. She has also worked on numerous films and music videos.

"After three years as the blogger behind the successful Ghana Rising Blog and brand, Opoku-Gyimah has taken a bold step and is turning Ghana Rising blog into a high fashion magazine that promises to add to the burgeoning luxury market in Ghana and beyond."

Covering the latest in fashion, beauty, hair, celebrity interviews, travel, culture, business, social news and property as well as a comprehensive business directory, Black Star would provide a platform for businesses and individuals wishing to reach this emerging successful community both in Ghana and in the Diaspora, the statement said.

"Sponsorship and advertising opportunities exist for both Black Star magazine and the Black Star website, offering discerning established or emerging brands a unique platform to reach this cultured and flourishing community.
