Bikini modeling is great - Alice

Alice Ewurasi Adu, an executive of Exopa Modeling Agency has spoken about the relevance of bikini or lingerie modeling saying she believes Ghanaians still frown on it, several years after it has been with them.

The reason, she said, was because of the cultural background of the people. But she went on to say that it was gradually being accepted.

“Bikini and lingerie modeling is the beginning of fashion, because after shower underwear is what you put on first. It became new in Ghana when Exopa started introducing it on the runway back in 2007, simply because the nation wasn’t used to such shows. Designing bikini and lingerie is someone’s learned profession.

“It is still a challenge because of the culture here. But the acceptance is getting better due to the constant bikini shows we have been hosting. This has also made us get to know about upcoming designers that are specialized in making bikini with African fabrics,” Alice told NEWS-ONE on Monday.

Alice believes “bikini modeling should be encouraged because at the end of the day somebody must display lingerie made by designers on the runway and get paid. We are also blessed with beautiful beaches around us, and if we should accept bikini modeling, it’s going to make our shores attractive, which I believe will enhance tourism to some extent, where tourists will be leaving the country with some bikini made in Ghana with African fabrics,” she added.

Alice said to be a lingerie model, “one needs a smooth skin, a sporty and nice figure with no hair. Also, a perfect sexy body for lingerie model should not be under 90cm bust, 60cm waist and 90cm for hips. Height does not matter for lingerie models.”
