Beverly Afaglo would have turned 43 today

Today, May 28, 2026, was meant to be a celebration.

Beverly Ama Afaglo would have turned 43 years old. There should have been cake, laughter, and messages flooding her phone and social media.

Instead, Ghana prepares to observe her one-week memorial.

Born on May 28, 1983, in the Volta Region, Beverly passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Those close to her say she fought until the very end. Her husband, musician Eugene Baah, Choirmaster of the hiplife group Praye, shared the heartbreaking news the morning after her passing:

"It would have been just four more days to your birthday. But I guess the Lord wanted to celebrate with you, so He called you."

On this day, she would have received warm wishes from colleagues and friends.

Actor John Dumelo recalls how Beverly once called him nearly two decades ago to recommend him for the role in ‘King is Mine’, a moment that changed his career.

Music producer Kaywa revealed he prayed with her every evening during her illness.

Her mother, sisters, and children stood by her side until her final moments.

A graduate of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Beverly built a versatile career as an actress, television presenter, radio host, beauty therapist, and entrepreneur.

She survived a devastating house fire that destroyed nearly everything she owned, yet she kept moving forward with resilience and grace.

On May 30, 2026, her family will gather for her one-week observation, a bittersweet occasion where loved ones will say happy belated birthday and goodbye at the same time.
