Bees invade school forcing teachers and pupils out

Nkoranza (Brong Ahafo) -- A swarm of bees has invaded and taken over the local primary schools in Domeabra in the Nkoranza district. The bees have occupied the compound of the school, making it virtually impossible for the teachers and the pupils to attend classes.

Mr Alex Baffoe-Nkrumah, headteacher, told the district director of education, Mr Oppong Bediako-Poku that the bees invade the school every harmattan season since it was constructed about five years ago.

He appealed to the district assembly to assist to get rid of the insects to enable classes to resume. Mr. Bediako-Poku suggested to the school management committee to prepare beehives at the outskirts of the town to attract the insects, as an economic venture.
