Becca talks about 'heartbreaks' and setbacks

Ghanaian voice, sultry songstress, Rebecca Acheampong, known in showbiz as Becca has articulated her success in the music industry as a challenging one as her worries as an enduring female artist are stigmatization and stereotyping.

“As a woman surviving in a male dominated industry, sometimes becomes a challenge as you must work extra hard which for me has not stopped me and will not stop me.

“There have been heartbreaking times for me where you wonder if people in general, know you are human and have feelings too but, I just dirt off my shoulder and keep my head up. Like I said good deeds and hard work always stand the test of time.”

The song writer cum actress divulged that the uniqueness of her songs is curved from her originality and how she prepares and serves her songs with passion and love.

“My music is from the heart, and I stick to my roots no matter how foreign the song maybe I do not forget to stick to the roots to show a bit of me and where I come from.”

She further noted that her strong belief for women empowerment was achieved through her music which focuses on educating, encouraging and inspiring them to be at the forefront in society.

Her favourite musicians include Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeeba, Yvonne Chakachaka, Kojo Antwi, Bisa Kdei, Kwabena Kwabena, Rex Omar, Beyonce, Alicia Keys.
