The 2014 winner of Miss Tourism Ghana, Belvy Naa Teide Ofori has formally made an entry into Ghana’s music industry with the release of three singles.

The beauty queen who has over the years released her own renditions to some popular tunes hopes the release of her singles, “Kiss Me”, “Mi Ke Bo” and “No Parking” will be the beginning of a successful music career.

Naa Belvy, as she wants to be known in her new career path, explaining the concepts of her songs said “women should not always wait for men to “con” us and “drop” us when they choose” pointing out that the first step to equality is for women to be able to choose their men and tell them how they feel.

She noted that “Kiss Me” represents a woman inviting a man to love her and kiss her, telling him in a manner that a confident man would tell a woman, whilst in “Mi K3 Bo”, the woman reminds her man she wants to be with him wherever he goes because she finds his love sweet.

And in the third track, “No Parking” she states emphatically that when men start messing up with women, or even before they start showing signs, women should be bold to tell them, “We hate no parking!”

The three songs have been released as an Extended Play (EP) with ‘No Parking’ as the title track.

A lover of Afro-pop and afro jazz, Naa Belvy shows a great level of versatility in the three songs and one is in no doubt that she can produce hit songs in various genres when she chooses.

Naa says her strengths lie in her uniquely powerful voice, strong but classy personality and effortless ability to stage live performances with verve and style.

She adds that she takes a lot of inspiration from Beyonce, Erykah Badu, the late Awura Ama Badu and many other Ghanaian Artistes.

The EP titled “No Parking” was released under the Eko Music label. The title track, “No Parking” featuring Trigmatic and “Mi K3 Bo” (Me and You) were produced by Simple Beats. What appears to be the fans’ favourite, “Kiss Me” featuring Wutah Afriyie was produced by Jaywander.

According to the management of Eko Music, Naa Belvy will be back soon from the 2018 Miss Earth pageant to mount event stages and rock the nation with her enthralling songs and thrilling performances.

After winning the Miss Tourism Ghana title in 2014 and Naa went ahead to fly the country’s flag high on the wings of the 2017 Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International pageant in China where she beat over 100 beauties from around the world to be crowned the second runner-up.

In 2016, she represented the Greater Accra region in TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant to help promote Ghana’s culture, fashion and the authentic Ghanaian identity. She was honoured with the prize for the fourth position.

In her quest to help cement Ghana’s name on the international platform, Naa Belvy left Accra on Sunday, October 7, 2018, for the Philippines to represent Ghana at the 2018 Miss Earth beauty pageant to be staged in the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City from October 6 to November 3.

Before she left for the Philippines on Sunday, Naa Belvy told the media, “I love pageants and music and I am excited to be doing both at this time of my life. I am going to represent Ghana well in the Miss Earth pageant and learn more to be able to mobilise the youth to contribute more to the national efforts to deal with climate change”.

“I encourage the media to do better in the climate change conversation to get all Ghanaians involved in the drive to save the earth from environmental degradation. I will take up a project on ocean cleanliness when I return to Ghana after the Miss Earth pageant,” she added.

The beauty queen-cum-singer, who is a product of Tema Secondary School and the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) asked all Ghanaians to support her to bring home the Miss Earth crown and also patronise her first Extended Play (EP) release, to encourage her to dish out more sizzling tracks and albums.
