Beatrice Arthur of B'exotiq label set to retire as fashion designer

It was breaking news when we received a message yesterday that Ghanaian ace designer Beatrice Arthur will no longer be in the business of fashion after showcasing her last collection ‘Kaleidoscope’ in November at AFRIKFASHION Show in Abidjan.

Beatrice Arthur revealed in an interview with Fashionghana.com that she will be saying goodbye to fashion designing in order to give ways to upcoming designers as she has contributed her quota to the industry.

She said, “I have contributed my quota to uplifting fashion in Ghana and the continent for over 15 years. It’s time to draw the curtain and pass the baton over to the younger generation. I have received accolades for the past 3 consecutive years. Dakar Fashion Week 2011, AWOWA 2012 and FESMMA Excellence Award 2013.”

“I represented Ghana in Paris this year in Paris, I attended OUAGA Fashion week and was invited by ITC to Alta Roma and Geneva. I think it’s better to retire whiles one is still on top of his or her game.” She added.

Beatrice has added her quota to the Ghanaian fashion world and she feels its time she took a bow, thus, wishes that fashion in Ghana will continue to see a brighter future.
