Batman Was A Disappointment

It may sound harsh though, but on being objective, honest and blunt, one can?t ignore the fact that Batman was a disappoint in the maiden edition of the KORA West Africa Most Promising Artiste show.

We need no telling the stuff Batman is made of, featuring in over fifty hit songs and coming out with a hit debut album, much was therefore expected from him.

From the spectacle witnessed at the TV3 studios, he utterly disgusted many with that unruly and unprofessional demeanour he exhibited in the first round of the said competition.

He did thrill me with his entry, clad in an attire designed with beautiful Ghanaian colours (Kudos to the designer), and he commenced well with the chorus but when the time came for the actual rap, Batman went berserk, claiming his microphone was faulty.

I was aghast by his raving and ranting about the mic and it was ludicrous for him to have asked the DJ to rewind the track. Batman should have known that it was a competition and an international one at that.

Many who watched the show would concur that his microphone was in perfect shape and even if it was faulty, it was the responsibility of the MC to change it just like Eddie Blay did with Orcyno from Togo.

I really don?t blame him that much, maybe he thought he was performing at any of the local shows like ?Music Music? or ?Agoro?, where they usually turn off the mic for the artistes to mime through their songs and whenever something is amiss, they scream at the DJ?s to rewind the track with some even walking off stage.

Well, I guess he was unduly favoured when he was called back to perform, which I know didn?t go down well with one or two judges.

Also where was the much publicised Tinny anyway? Was he sick or was petrified to face some elite artistes? And why did Mzbel introduce Baktyre or Bakatee or whatever his name is in her performance. She should have known that featuring someone would mean getting against her.

Not to take anything away from Sasha, I think she did very well and did deserve the title.
