Bandana calls Samini a hypocrite

Dancehall artiste Bandana took The Delay Show on Viasat1 to a whole new level on Friday, when he made some bold statements about fellow artiste Samini.

Bandana, also known as Shatta Wale, is said to be having qualms with Samini. Bandana has accused the latter of plotting to bring his music down. It is still unclear how the ‘beef’ between the two started, but asked whether he envies Samini, Bandana told Deloris Frimpong Manso it is the other way round.

“I don’t envy him…be envies me,” he boldly told Delay. “They are trying to bring my career down, but I’m rising.” He further called Samini a hypocrite and questioned why he has no track with any Jamaican dancehall artiste. “Samini is a big hypocrite. He cannot write any music. He claims he has been to Jamaica, but he cannot even record a Jamaican track.”

Asked why he is saying that, Bandana explained artistes in the Ghanaian music industry always want others to feel bad. “Ghanaian artistes are always sabotaging eachother…so it’s normal.”

Earlier on the show, Bandana cleared the air on his insults to the reigning Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Kaakie. According to Bandana, he has apologised to Kaakie on Twitter, and did not direct the insult to her but to all others. He however declined to apologise to her again on the show, saying “you cannot force me to apologise.”

Bandana, who disclosed he has not smoked for about a year, maintains he is the best Ghanaian artiste now. Although he conceded that hiplife seems to take the shine away from dancehall music, he was quick to add that “when we talk about good music, I know I do that”.

He also cleared the air about the alleged competition between him and Kwaw Kese for the ‘King of the Streets’ title. “I’m not competing with Kwaw Kese. If you want to give yourself a title, you need to be prepared for it. I didn’t give myself the ‘King of Dancehall’ title, my fans gave it to me; so Kwaw should ask himself whether he is living up to his fans’ expectation.

Meanwhile, The Delay Show has introduced a new segment called ‘The Hot Seat’ where guests are asked three different degree levels of questions.

Shatta Wale, was the first to sit in the hot seat.
