Azonto Dance: From Tema to Africa

Moving rhythmically to music, following a set sequence of steps gives us the definition to what dance is, thus, Ghana has proven beyond reasonable doubt that it has gained its say within the terrain of a new dance called, the Azonto Dance.

Thanks to Sarkodie who has done so well in raising the bar from Tema with excitement. He may not be the originator of the dance, but his name cannot be eluded from the books as the crooner.

In vein of the steps coming from Tema, over fifty countries have become proud associates of the dance courtesy Keitta who represented Ghana at the BBA Stargame.

While in the house, Keitta constantly taught the housemates the ‘pride of Ghana’, which even after his eviction, on one of the days when Davido’s ‘Dami Duro’ was played, Jannette, a surviving mate said, ‘Keitta would have been happy to watch this right now. He would have been doing the Azonto’.

You would agree with me that the dance step is one export all of us as Ghanaians should be proud of. ***
