Ask relevant questions when your partner asks for space – William Diego Parker Benin

A guest on Ghanaweb TV’s Moans and Cuddles, William Diego Parker-Benin, has advised people in committed relationships to ask relevant questions whenever their partners ask for space.

William shared this piece of advice on the show while contributing to the topic ‘asking for space in a relationship’

According to him, even though asking for space is sometimes needed in a relationship so people can re-evaluate themselves and the future of the relationship, they should also ask relevant questions to be sure their partners are not using that strategy to break up with them.

He also advised that when they are both satisfied with the reason the other is requesting for the space, there should be an agreed minimum time to come back together, after which they can move on if the relationship doesn’t work.

“Ask relevant questions, always define the reason for asking for the space, ask why, how long is this going to take, within this period what are the parameters we are setting for ourselves. Be clear about it, so that when if you see anything other than what was agreed on, then you have enough reason to leave”, he said
