Arrest my husband - wife pleads with Police

A housewife at Abeka in Accra is on her knees pleading with the police to cause the arrest of her husband. This is because she can no longer withstand the constant battering she has been receiving from her husband, Ernest Mireku, 29, over the years.

Anytime she denies her man sex even when she is in her menstrual period, she is severely assaulted. The woman, Stella Nutsu, 25, was on Monday 21 October severely beaten by her husband, resulting in deep cuts all over her body for denying him sex. She said she denied him sex because she was in her menstrual period.

Last year, Mireku, who was denied sex by his pregnant wife, beat her until she had a miscarriage. Mireku is now on the run.

Narrating her ordeal to “The Spectator” last Monday at the Tesano Police Station, Stella, looking battered said her husband likes drinking alcohol and any time he drinks some, he has the strong desire to have sex with her anytime and anywhere.

She said since they married for the past three years, she has gone through hell anytime she denied her husband sex especially when she was in her menstrual period. Stella recounted several instances of beating she had gone through. She said she now feared for her life because her husband had become very violent. She pleaded with the police to effect his arrest which she felt could save her from further punishment.
