Aniwa 2003 Thrills At NAFTI

THE major student film and television festival in Africa —ANIWA 2003, opened at the National Film and Television (NAFTI) studios, East Cantonments, Accra, last Monday.The festival was organised by NAFTI in conjunction with the Television Training Centre, Deutsche Welle, Berlin, Germany.

ANIWA 2003, which is the sixth in the series, has the theme “Liberating the Mind”. It is a two-week event and is scheduled to end on July 18. The first week will be devoted to New Media including Digital Animation and Post-Production Workshop, being sponsored by CILECT (International Association of Film and Television Schools). The second week will be devoted to the screening and analysis of student productions.

Over 40 participants are expected from Cameroon, The Gambia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Germany.
