Media personality, Andy Dosty, has recounted how he lost his elder sister at the Tema General Hospital because of a nurse’s lack of urgency.

He recounted a distressing incident when his ailing elder sister was hospitalized for treatment.

He explained that when it was time for medication to be prescribed, the nurse on duty had already finished her shift.

Despite his pleas, the nurse declined to administer the injection, as the next nurse scheduled to take over was not yet present. This left him feeling helpless in his attempts to ensure his sister received the necessary care.

“At the Tema General Hospital, my elder sister was admitted there for treatment so I used to visit her a lot. One day, there was a nurse who was supposed to administer medication to her, but he refused, saying he had closed.

"I pleaded with him to do it because the next person on duty had not reported yet, but he was adamant not to attend to her. When I left to speak to my sister, the guy left the office,” Andy Dosty said while speaking on the Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM and monitored by GhanaWeb.

Andy indicated that he was briefed about his elder sister’s demise the following day while he was preparing to host a show on air.

“I confronted him [the nurse] on his way home to be sensitive to the situation… The following day, I was in the studio preparing for an interview with Stonebwoy when I was informed my sister had passed away.”

The media personality opened up about the situation while he was commenting on issues surrounding the death of the late gospel musician, Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, popularly known as KODA.

KODA was battling with a condition called G6PD deficiency. While it has not been established that it was the cause of his death, the musician in a video that has gone viral said he took the wrong medication for eight months.

He said after he had been treated over two days and released back in 2016 thereabout, "I started developing some funny, funny symptoms here and there over time and I noticed something was not right.

"So, I remember one day being bold enough to google the medication I was given and I noticed that one major element that I was asked to take was a Sulphur-based medication and immediately I told myself that I had a medical condition called G6PD.

"I know for sure that Sulphur is one of the things that I am not supposed to take. Why, the people, they want kill me or what? Because I had taken the medication for over 6 close to 8 months," he added.
