Ambolley storms FEMUA Festival in Ivory Coast

Based on his outstanding performance on the Ghanaian music scene, highlife cum afro pop musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley and his Sekunde Band have been invited to participate and perform at this year’s edition of Festival of Urban Music of Anoumabo (FEMUA) as a special guest on Friday, April 4 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The seventh edition FEMUA which kicked off on April 1 in Abidjan would end on April 6. Ambolley, who is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to make the show grand, said he would use the event to promote Ghana music as well as tell the whole world “Ghana is the home of African music.”

He also promised to surprise patrons at the festival with a dramatic blend of traditional and contemporary rhythms.

He urged the organisers to work harder to make the event one of a kind, promising to perform for at least three hours to entertain patrons that would troop to the venue.

A versatile singer, songwriter, producer and a musical ‘life force’, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, burst onto the scene over two decades ago with ‘Simigwa’, a jazzy highlife style that virtually worked its way into the hearts of music fans in the country and beyond.
