All Set For Miss Ghana finals

At long last the final 20 beauties to vie for the grand finals of this year?s New Face of Miss Ghana have been selected. The last four were chosen at Koforidua last weekend to represent the Eastern and Volta zones.

Now it is the job of the organisers to groom them in areas such as walking, poise and confidence to get them ready for the final in September as well as the Miss World pageant next year.

At the Eredec Hotel, Koforidua, last Saturday, four ladies out of eight, all from tertiary institutions, came out tops in another hotly contested competition which was as thrilling as it was competitive.

The four, Barbara Owusu, 22, of All Nations University, Nana Adwoa Adu Bediako, 21, of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Euphemia Takyi Mensah, 21, UCC, and Maria Nebie, 20, of the Koforidua Polytechnic, picked their tickets for the final, after going through question time, highlife dance and message presentation segments.

Answering questions on various issues from the judges, the contestants gave thought-provoking messages. But the entertainment segment of the show was what really made the evening one to remember. The 2003 hiplife champion, Stephen Paddy, and dance champ, Collins Dumfeh, thrilled the audience with sweet performances and so did singers Nana Yaw Amponsah and Dada K.D. who sings and dances like Daddy Lumba.

Television and radio personality, Koofori, and hiplifers, Antwi ne Antwi, were also on stage to do their own thing. At the end of the show, however, it took the crowd a while to leave, obviously because the show was so good but too short.
