She started with very humble beginnings and it was just a matter of time before she blew up in our faces, becoming one of the biggest stars with the Despite Group of Companies, Ghana biggest multimedia firm.

Diana Akosua Adutwumwaa Britwum, popularly known as Akosua Sarpong – is young in the media landscape but her achievements are telling – as she has, in the last few years, risen steadily to the top of the charts as one of the go-to television and radio presenters in the country.

Despite Group of Companies oversee three (3) highly-rated radio stations in the capital – Peace 104.3FM, Okay 101.7FM and Neat 100.9FM as well as the most-watched television station in Ghana – United Television (UTV), and Akosua Sarpong features prominently on all platforms.

She is news anchor for UTV and still handles the news bulletin for the other radio stations under the Despite Group, but that is not all; she also handles the ‘Newspaper Review’ segment for all the morning shows on Peace FM, Okay FM and Neat FM.

Akosua started her professional media practice at Garden City Radio some ten (10) years ago and made her way to Peace FM, where she handled the ‘Announcements’ and ‘Newspaper Review’ segment.

With just a year or so at Peace FM, she blossomed into a consummate radio presenter who commandeered slots on the main News Bulletin as anchor for Peace FM and the other Despite Group-owned radio stations.

When United Television (UTV) came into the fray, it came as no surprise that Akosua Sarpong would take up a leading role as one of the top anchors on the highly rated television station.

Her control of the local language is impeccable and her delivery of the news has won her many fans and followers over the years.

With 10 years in the media landscape in Ghana thus far, Akosua has garnered lots of experience to surge on to higher heights in the coming years.
