Akosua Agyepong Goes Gospel

Akosua Agyepong The musical nightingale is back after seven years with a song on her lips. Akosua Agyepong is for ever beautiful and trendy; ever so sweet. She also has not forgotten her dancing steps. She is exhibiting it in Churches where she is promoting her new album title ?I Belong To You?.

She said she has switched from secular to gospel music. She stressed that her previous albums were all motivated by her passion for God. ?Though I?ve been a Christian all my life, I felt very inspired to dedicate my entire musical career to minister God?s work to the masses?.

After the release of her previous album seven years ago, Akosua says she had the obligation of taking care of her family as well as running her restaurant. Thus she could not be consistent with her career. As a member of Rev. Christine Doe-Tetteh`s Solid Rock Church, Akosua said she gets inspired any time she participated in song ministration at the church. Thus through her constant relationship with the choir, teaching songs, contributing to praise and worship, it become apparent that her career was bound to a new twist to bring out her spirituality, using the power of her God-given talent, to preach the word of God.

Akosua says the rhythm and beats of her current album are still as danceable as her previous songs like me yea obaa, frema and many others that shot her into the lime light, maintaining her rhapsodic musical arrangements that keep fans on their feet. The album titled I belong to you, has other captivating songs as My God is good, Gyidie, Som Nyame among others. In all, there are 10 songs on the compact disc (CD) album and eight on the audio cassette. All songs on the album are exclusively written and produced by Akosua herself. The music was recorded at Creative Studios, Dansoman, and the studio engineering was done by Mr. Appiah.

Akosua Adjepong, now 34 years, has a family of four children, to which she is so much attached. She also manages her restaurant called Yekum Kom at the Rawlings Park, Accra. Akosua says it?s been fulfilling working on music, looking after the children and running my private business as well. Akosua said though NOKOREX is no longer in existence, the group decided that they will periodically come together for certain international concerts and other engagements.
