Agya Koo lauds President's decision to award Him

Kumasi, July 2, GNA- Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, a comedian, has lauded the President's decision to nominate him for a National Award.

Agya Koo, 38, said he is not perturbed about certain criticisms from some politicians, saying that, he really merits the award, since he has proved equal to his work as an artiste and comedian.

The Ace comedian was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Wednesday, He said "the Bible even states clearly that, the first shall be the last and the last shall come first", adding that this is a true manifestation of God's blessing in his life, as people least expected him to be selected for such an enviable National Award.

He announced that the award by the President, is not his first award, adding that, even yesterday he received one at the National Theatre in Accra and come three months, he is due to receive another one in Canada.

Agya Koo, was grateful to Ghanaians for patronizing his films and also recognizing his contribution towards the promotion of the Ghanaian culture and the Film Industry.

He said, he would dedicate the award to all Ghanaians, saying that, the award would motivate him to reach higher heights in the film industry.
