Agya Koo And Mr. Beautiful At War

A fierce war between comic Akan actors Kofi Adu (popularly known as Agya Koo) and Clement Bonney (also known as Mr. Beautiful), is eminent over a mere rumour.

There is currently tension between the two actors over a statement made by a movie producer and director based in Kumasi. According to the director by name Jones Agyeman of J.A. Films, Agya Koo told him that, he would no longer play any role with Mr. Beautiful or act in the same movie with him.

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Entertainment Review” yesterday Thursday May 13, 2010, Mr. Jones Agyeman said, Agya Koo started this about a year ago and said the same thing about actress Nana Ama McBrown, before currently involving Mr. Beautiful and upcoming Akan actor Kofi Mensah.

He stressed that he doesn’t have any personal grudge with Agya Koo but he wants to expose Agya Koo’s intolerant behaviour. He also alleged that Agya Koo feels very insecure and scared with anybody who seems to be competing with him in the movie industry.

When Agya Koo who is currently on set, was contacted he denied ever making that statement and said he has no problem with Mr. Beautiful: “Mr. Beautiful is my brother, he visits me at home very often. If I really said that, like Jones is saying, then why would I act with Mr. Beautiful in “Ama Ghana”, which was shot few months ago” he asked.

“If the producers need me they call me, if they need Mr. Beautiful they call him. I cannot determine who producers should use in their movies. What has Mr. Beautiful done to me for me to say this?” he further asked. Agya Koo said Jones Agyeman is going round saying all kinds of things about him and creating a lot of confusion among actors and producers in Kumasi.

“He is saying things about me on radio and bringing out things which happen on set, which is supposed to remain on set. There is no truth in all that he is saying”.

Mr. Beautiful has refused to confront his dear friend about a rumour which is eating him up. On the other hand, Mr. Beautiful who also claims he has no problem with Agya Koo said he has heard the alleged statement made by Agya Koo several times in Kumasi.

“I quite remember about two years ago Miracles Films boss called to tell me that Agya Koo said he would not act in any movie with me; then recently one director called Jones Agyeman, also called to tell me the same thing. He told me it was not me alone, he (Agya Koo) did it to Nana Ama McBrown, and then he brought it on me and now to a guy called Kofi Mansah,” Mr. Beautiful said.

He added that he wanted to confront Agya Koo about the issue, but some elderly people have advised him to forget about it and that it, was not necessary for him to ask Agya Koo. “Actually, according to the person who told me, Agya Koo will charge the producers more than his usual charge, if the producers insist they still want to use me. But I have not asked him yet” he said.

Though the two actors are claiming they are still good friends, peacefmonline can say confidently state that, the relationship between the two, is not the same as it used to be.
