African Film Festival Celebrates Ghana’s @ 50

The 14th New York African Film Festival is celebrating the golden jubilee with a program featuring 47 films from 20 countries ranging from Algeria to South Africa, with particular attention to cinema that reveals the cultural legacy of colonialism and contributes to shaping the political, historical and cultural identities of newly independent nations.

Special Program at The Bronx Museum of the Arts

AFF continues its celebration of Ghana's 50th anniversary of Independence in further exploration of the Festival's themes by presenting a series of screenings in collaboration with the National Council of Ghanaian Association, from Friday, April 20th to Saturday, April 21st, 2007 at The Bronx Museum of the Arts. This 2-day program will feature the works of some of Africa's classic and contemporary filmmakers, with special attention to the works of Ghana's pioneer filmmaker, Kwaw Ansah, who will be making a special guest appearance.

Ghanaians and friends of Ghana are encouraged to attend.
