Adjoa Evicted From Ghana’s Most Beautiful

Twenty-one-year-old Ghana’s Most Beautiful contestant, Adjoa from Osina in the Eastern region, has been evicted from the show. She is the fourth to be evicted in the competition.

Irrespective of the upsurge of foreign dances and music at most gatherings, Ghanaian traditional dance continues to make a significant impact in entertaining, educating and intriguing guests at all events. Ghanaian traditional dances carry volumes of meaning in the steps of the dancers and their body rhythms, therefore making it a delight to watch.

Contestants last Sunday, October 23, were tasked to perform traditional dance from their various regions. They all managed to give their all in a bid to secure a stay in the competition. Asuma from the Upper East region commenced with the Nagla dance. Her performance won the heart of Judge Dontoh. “Your dance has a very good sense of coordination,” he stated. But Judge Togbui was expecting more explanation from Asuma during her presentation.

Akweley from the Greater Accra followed with the Otufo dance and she was able to carry herself well. From the Eastern region was Adjoa who performed the Llama dance and two of the judges were satisfied while the other was unhappy with her outfit which did not allow him to see the feet movement well. Enam also mounted the stage to do the Boboobo dance from the Volta region. The history behind the dance was soaked by judges Linda, Tobui and Dontoh.

Next was Akua from the Ashanti region who did the Kete dance. According to one of the judges, Akua’s background about her dance was not detailed. She was advised to research more into it next time. From the Upper West was Yeli who presented the Bawa dance. Her piece was full of energy, said Judge Linda.

Dontoh was also amazed but was expecting more explanation about the history behind the dance. Finally was Abena from the Brong Ahafo region who did the Gobi dance. According to the judges, her entry was good but the end was poor. To add more fun to the show, Akoo Nana, a Ghanaian hip life artiste, was around to warm studio audiences with his hit tracks.

The programme continues next week when contestants perform to promote the role and development project of their queen mothers. Viewers can text the name of their favorite contestants to the short code 1788 to all networks to keep her in the competition.
